Katie O’Leary joined Andersen Law PC as office manager and paralegal in May 2023.
At ALPC, Katie provides client care, ensures the office runs smoothly and handles the initial work to set up new cases.
Katie joins ALPC with five years of experience in the legal field after 25 years in the mortgage industry.
“When the market crashed in 2008, I knew it was time to diversify my work experience,” Katie said. “I knew I wanted to continue helping people with challenging/difficult life situations (purchasing a home is one of the largest purchases one can make) and decided to enter the legal field as a second career. Several years into the industry, I found that family law checked all the boxes.”
In 2020, Katie earned her paralegal certificate. Over the past five years, she’s held the positions of office manager, client care manager and paralegal at a family law firm.
She says she has high ethical standards and loves finding solutions to problems. Her keys to success are staying calm, organized and approachable.
Katie says clients find her to be thorough, compassionate, easy to speak to and helpful.
“I will go beyond my duties to help anyone in their time of need whether it is a co-worker, friend or family,” she says. “I like to make people smile when they are having a bad day in hopes to turn their day around.”
Katie is native from the Big Island of Hawai’i, where she lived most of her life. She moved to Colorado in 2011 and lives in Lakewood. On the weekends you’ll find Katie hiking or relaxing near a river reading a book soaking up Mother Nature. She has three children and one granddaughter, named Ka’ulawena, which, in Hawaiian, means “the rosy glow of dawn.”
